American Idol Alum Casey Bishop has recently announced her upcoming self-titled EP. The new EP features the singer’s energetic new single “Don’t Talk!” along with other original songs. The upcoming punk energy, infused with alt-pop melodies releases on September 28.
Casey Bishop has recently opened up about what fans should expect from her first EP. This singer-songwriter is known for her edgy style and rock based tunes and she totally plans to keep the vibe for this release, while also incorporating personal experiences.
“I wrote all of the songs from personal experiences, but those experiences are all over the map. They’re all so different from each other,” Bishop said of the EP. “‘Blurry Vision’ for example, is about the anxiety that comes with growing older and reminiscing on times when I felt excited about the little things, but I’d say most of them stem from heartbreak.”
The singer-songwriter’s upcoming EP is set to feature her newest release, “Blurry Vision.” An official visualizer video is now out for her single. The other pre-released single from the upcoming EP is entitled “Don’t Talk!” While looking forward to Bishop’s upcoming release, keep in mind that her musical influences are Fleetwood Mac, Incubus, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and Billie Eilish among others.
Bishop Finished in Fourth on American Idol
At the age of 15, Bishop auditioned for American Idol singing “Livewire” by Motley Crue and “My funny Valentine” by Sarah Vaughan. The Florida native seriously impressed the judges with her rock vocals, in turn she earned a unanimous “yes” from the judges.
Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan were very impressed with her audition. Bryan even called her the “winner,” of the show during her audition. Bishop continued into the competition until facing elimination in the Top 4, where she earned the lowest number of votes.
Shortly after her American Idol run, she signed with 19 Recordings/BMG and began songwriting sessions in Los Angeles. Since becoming an active artist in the music industry, Bishop has shown love for her fans.
“Music and art means everything to me,” Bishop said. “I need music for everything I do. It’s like therapy.”
